Cuprous Pharmaceuticals Inc. (CPI; www.cuprous.ca ) is a Vancouver-based start-up company that works with partners to create new nanomedicines aimed at addressing unmet medical needs. We specialize in utilizing coordination chemistry and nanotechnology to develop small molecule therapeutics and vaccines. CPI is led by an experienced management team with expertise in bringing novel pharmaceuticals from the bench to patients.
CPI is hiring a highly motivated Research Associate (RA) with expertise in formulation development. The RA will perform research related to the development of small molecule nanoparticulate formulations as vaccines and/or therapeutics. The RA will prepare, characterize, troubleshoot, and optimize nanoformulations for in vitro and in vivo applications at various scales. The RA is required to keep up-to-date and accurate laboratory notes and data files. The RA is expected to analyze and interpret results independently as well as in a team environment through regular group discussions. The RA is expected to maintain familiarity with the scientific knowledge and advancements within the scope of the company’s research area.
PhD in pharmaceutical sciences, pharmacology, biochemistry or a related field
Demonstrated expertise in formulation development from preparation to characterization and scaling up for preclinical studies
Experience performing standard analytical assays relevant to formulation characterization (e.g. absorption and fluorescence spectrometry, chromatographic separations, atomic absorption spectroscopy, etc.)
Knowledge or experience with in vivo models
Efficient time management skills and ability to work on multiple projects
Ability to master new techniques quickly
Ability to work well independently as well as with others
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
