Cuprous Pharmaceuticals Inc. (CPI; www.cuprous.ca ) is a Vancouver-based start-up company that works with partners to create new nanomedicines aimed at addressing unmet medical needs. We specialize in utilizing coordination chemistry and nanotechnology to develop small molecule therapeutics and vaccines. CPI is led by an experienced management team with expertise in bringing novel pharmaceuticals from the bench to patients. 

Job Summary:

CPI is hiring a highly motivated Business Development Associate to perform market research and customer discovery in the biotechnology and pharmaceutical industry. The role will focus on three pillars: customer discovery, outreach, and management. Customer discovery initiatives will focus on identifying leads through research projects. Prospect outreach activities will entail targeted and thorough email and call programs. The successful candidate is also expected to meticulously track and manage BD activities using the company CRM.

What Will You Do:

  • Identify new target markets

  • Contribute to lead generation i.e. cold email and calling to key decision makers

  • Conduct market research

  • Complete a competitor analysis and look at how CPI positions next to their competitors

  • Organize all leads using CPI's CRM system

  • Perform customer discovery activities


  • BSc. in life sciences, pharmacology, biochemistry, or a related field

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Efficient time management skills and ability to work on multiple projects

  • Able to work effectively and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment

  • Strong Microsoft Office skills

  • Detail-oriented with proven ability to produce accurate documents and professional materials
